Digital Press Operator

Fulltime, Will train
Afternoon Shift 40 hours/week 12­-8pm
Pay $11/hr ­- $14/hr Depending on Experience
This is a benefitted position.

Job Summary:

Set up and operate digital press­iGen 4XP.
Perform all press operator functions as noted on the work order/job tickets.
Work closely with Premedia Department.
Examine orders to determine job specs.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Performs electronic file preparation and file processing for digital print projects
  • Performs press startups and startup maintenance.
  • Replace ink cartridges, maintains equipments subsystems.
  • Loads and unloads paper.
  • Performs required calibrations of color.
  • Adjusts press parameters as required to accommodate stock and image quality.
  • Produces preliminary make­ready and press proofs if needed.
  • Performs routine adjustments during press run.
  • Continuously checks sheets during press run to maintain quality and color standards.
  • Maintains equipment by following work procedures and performing required tests and maintenance.
  • Reports time and materials consumption accurately.
  • Reports all problems and scheduling constraints to Production Manager and Scheduler.
  • Coordinates repair service with vendors

Qualifications:

  • 1­2 years Technical school training or equivalent preferred
  • 6 months operating digital press equipment is a plus
  • Good with machines ­ able to troubleshoot
  • Strong visual perception of color
  • Highly self motivated and directed
  • Ability to absorb new ideas and concepts quickly
  • Good analytical and problem­solving abilities
  • Very strong customer service orientation
  • Able to work in a team­orientated, collaborative environment
  • Must have good mathematical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Able to apply written instructions to machine set­up and maintenance.

Working Conditions:

  • Frequent lifting of objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Standing for prolonged periods of time – up to 8 hours or more per day.
  • Periodic overtime.
  • Exposure to ink and chemical fumes, and airborne particles such as paper dust and drying powder.
  • Noise level is usually moderate to loud.
  • Work area may have fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.

Administrative Assistant

Fulltime, Will train
40 hours/week 8­-5pm
Pay $11/hr ­- $14/hr Depending on Experience
This is a benefitted position.

Job Summary:

The Administrative Assistant is responsible for greeting and directing all people entering the building, which includes customers, visitors and vendors and clients. You are also responsible for placing, receiving, and routing calls, performing general administrative and accounting duties on a daily basis. You may also assist other administrative staff with overflow work.

Because you are in contact with employees, customers, and vendors, and are in a position to influence their satisfaction, your position requires confidentiality, tact, sensitivity and professionalism.

The Administrative Assistant position is full­time, 40 hours per week, 8am to 5pm with one hour lunch.

Responsibilities and Duties:

General and Administrative:

  • Maintain a professional appearance (business casual attire, ie: no blue jeans, shorts, flip flops etc.) and demeanor that reflects the company’s commitment to quality, continuous improvement and respect for all individuals.
  • Collecting time sheets and correcting if necessary.
  • Enter payroll hours and maintain PTO usage & accrual.
  • Close Inventory, Production and Materials batches daily.
  • File incident reports and Workforce Safety Claims.
  • Government reporting requirements as directed.
  • Maintain confidence of information regarding payroll, finances, employees, customer data, etc.
  • Assist and screen customers, visitors, and vendors with sign­in, nametags for safety and building security.
  • Inventory/order office supplies.
  • Coordinate/maintain industry and company memberships.

Customer Service:

  • Greet all customers, employees and vendors to the building in a friendly and sincere manner.
  • Answer the telephone and transfer calls to the appropriate individuals/department.
  • Take telephone messages for staff.
  • Answer any customer questions, and direct them to the appropriate individuals/department.
  • Assist customers who are picking up orders.
  • Build and maintain print samples library.
  • Keep the entry and front meeting rooms tidy and presentable?

Accounting:

  • Receive and process payments from customers
  • Accurately record and process payments made by credit card
  • Log incoming checks
  • Monitor company AR and follow set process for collecting outstanding debt.
  • Assist in recording of vendor invoices
  • Job closing procedures: Scan daily tickets into job tracking system, print out labels and apply to tickets.
  • Perform other accounting functions as assigned.
  • Enter payables invoices
  • Open and distribute mail

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Associates degree in Human Resources, Business Management or other preferred.
  • Office experience preferred.
  • Ability to handle a multiple­lined phone system for a number of staff members.
  • Exceptional phone and customer service skills.
  • Positive and upbeat attitude.
  • Must be computer literate with a PC.
  • Maintain confidence of information.

Working Conditions:

  • Sitting for prolonged periods of time.
  • Appearance at all times must represent the company image.
  • Occasional lifting of boxes 25 lb.
  • Work area may have fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.
  • Low noise level
