Responsibilities and Duties:
General and Administrative
  • Advise, steer and supervise the Sales/Marketing Team.
  • Work with sales staff to meet monthly, quarterly and annual goals.
  • Use sales forecasting and strategic planning, and monitor market trends.
  • Formulate, direct and coordinate marketing activities and policies to promote products and services.
  • Recruit, train and evaluate sales staff.
  • Travel may be necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Education and/or experience required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Excellent persuasive and interpersonal skills and a sales aptitude.
  • Ability to identify and meet customers’ needs and requirements.
  • Good sense of design and color.
  • Must be a self-starter and a problem solver.
  • Must possess a valid state motor vehicle operator’s license.
  • Excellent knowledge of all facets of print operations: press, bindery, and graphics.

Special Project Bindery

From time-to-time, Knight Printing has large binding or assembly projects that require many workers. The Special Project Bindery Worker is a temporary position that may provide 30 – 40 hours a week for a 4-6 week period of time. Special Project Bindery Workers are responsible for completing finishing services for special projects in compliance with job specifications and company quality standards. Works closely with other staff members to exceed customer satisfaction and service expectations.
  • This is a temporary/seasonal position.
  • This is a non-benefitted position
  • We are willing to work around school schedules if you are a student.
  • Day, night and weekend shifts are available.
Responsibilities and Duties:
General and Administrative
  • Work with Production Team to produce job functions working with changing deadlines changes and updates as needed.
  • Comply with all OSHA safety requirements.
  • Participate as a key player in the Production Team by supporting operations as needed.
  • Follow systems and procedures outlined in the company manuals.
Bindery Operations
  • Perform all bindery functions as instructed by supervisor. This may include: punching, spiral or coil binding, collating, inserting, laminating and wrapping, shrink-wrapping and boxing.
  • Process handwork assembly according to specifications.
  • Package jobs, complete work orders, tickets, and delivery receipts as necessary and place in their assigned areas.
  • Keep work area neat and clean and organized.
Equipment and Supplies
  • Clean and maintain equipment and work area following maintenance procedures.
  • Monitor and manage inventory of bindery supplies; order and stock as instructed by supervisor.
  • Inform supervisor of equipment problems.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma/GED with experience or vocational/technical certification preferred.
  • Strong ability to follow instructions.
  • Strong spirit of cooperation.
  • High attention to detail and quality.
  • Good mathematical skills.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Excellent motor skills and an aptitude for working with machines.
  • Reliable attendance, punctuality and attention to work station.
  • Meet or exceed minimum test results as specified by hiring manager.
Working Conditions:
  • Standing for prolonged periods of time - up to 8 hours or more per day.
  • Frequent lifting of objects up to 25 lbs.
  • Work area may have fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.
  • Noise level is usually moderate to loud.
  • Exposure to ink and chemical fumes, and airborne particles such as paper dust and drying powder.
  • Fast-paced environment subject to numerous schedule and priority changes and short notice activity.

Hand Assembly Bindery

The Hand Bindery Operator is responsible for completing all finishing services for press and copier projects in compliance with job specifications and company quality standards. Prepares the workload schedule to meet customer timeframe requirements. Performs daily/weekly/monthly maintenance on all bindery equipment to ensure optimum output. Works closely with other staff members to exceed customer satisfaction and service expectations.

As the Hand Bindery Operator and a member of the Production Team, you are accountable for:

  • Participate as a key player in the Production Team by supporting operations as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with the Production Manager, the sales team, and the production team, informing and updating them regularly to guarantee that sales objectives and customer objectives are met.
  • Follow systems and procedures outlined in the company manuals.
Bindery Operations
  • Perform all bindery functions as instructed by supervisor. This may include: folding, padding, numbering, gluing, punching, spiral or coil binding, collating, inserting, applying stamps, metering, drilling, stitching or stapling, laminating and wrapping, shrink-wrapping and boxing.
  • Process handwork assembly according to specifications.
  • Package jobs, complete work orders, tickets, and delivery receipts as necessary and place in their assigned areas.
  • Keep work area neat and clean and organized.
Equipment and Supplies
  • Clean and maintain equipment and work area following maintenance procedures and update maintenance logs.
  • Monitor and manage inventory of bindery supplies; order and stock as instructed by supervisor.
